FAQ’s

    5. Stay out of the area of the suspected gas leak until a qualified professional determines that the area is safe.

    6. Have your system checked by your propane retailer before attempting to use any of your propane appliances.

  • A leak check tests the integrity of the propane system. The National Fire Protection Association has specific requirements for when a leak check must be conducted.

  • Only turn off your propane tank if it is safe to do so. Never turn your propane tank back on yourself.

    1. Open the tank cover.

    2. Turn the service valve handle clockwise until the valve is seated.

  • Your tank gauge can be found by opening the cover of your propane tank. The indicator on your gauge represents the percentage to which the tank is filled. Tanks are typically only filled to 80% capacity to allow for expansion within the tank. Monitor your tank’s propane level regularly to ensure that you do not run out of propane in your tank.

    If your tank runs out of propane, national safety codes require that your system must be inspected by a qualified professional before the tank can be turned back on.
